I’ve known Matt for several years now, having met him through my PR photography work, so I was really happy when he told me he was engaged and that he and his wife-to-be, Ola, would love for me to photograph their wedding.
Fast forward a year and I found myself in Matt and Ola’s lovely flat in Windsor, where Ola was getting ready to marry Matt along with her bridesmaids and parents.
Ola is from Poland, so her parents don’t speak much English, but on days like this, I didn’t need to understand Polish in order to be able to see the love that they had for their daughter. They were so obviously proud of Ola, you could see it in their faces.
I met Matt at the church where they were to marry, looking a little on the nervous side, but mostly full of excitement. Ola arrived in a beautiful, classic wedding car before her father walked her down the aisle, preceded by Ola’s lovely bridesmaids and gorgeous little flower girls.
Following the ceremony, we made our way over to the Christopher Wren Hotel, which is set right on the banks of the river Thames in the centre of Windsor. Whilst the guests tucked into their first drinks of the day, I went for a little walk with the bride and groom to take some photos when it was still light outside. Soon after we finished, the wedding breakfast began. The speeches were hilarious – Matt’s brother was the master of ceremonies and he gave a very funny speech himself.
Speeches done with, Matt and Ola cut their beautiful wedding cake and began their first dance as husband and wife. After that, the band took over and the party really got started. The party was brilliant fun, I’m glad, as always, that I stayed to the end because that’s when Matt and his two brothers got together on the dance floor and really went for it to one of their favourite tunes.
Thanks so much for having me along guys, it was an absolute pleasure.
