Charlie and Imogen were married in a beautiful Jewish ceremony at one of my favourite London venues, the Brewery, right in the heart of the city.
They were married underneath a wonderful chuppah (canopy) that was hand made by Charlie and his father. The canvas had been used for other family weddings over the years so it added something really meaningful to the ceremony – not that it needed anything! It was an emotional occasion.
Charlie choked up when he saw his bride for the first time in the bedeken (Jewish custom where the bride and groom see each other for the first time) just before the actual ceremony, and it was clear they were really meant for one and other.
Following the ceremony the drinks reception kicked off outside in the courtyard, before the party got into full swing later on in the ball room. The guys from Creation band rocked the dance floor, entertaining the guests with their incredible voices and dance moves. Charlie worked up a good sweat and really earned his dinner!
It was a genuine thrill and pleasure to photograph their wedding. Massive thanks to Phil Smith for coming all the way down from ‘up norf’ to second shoot for the day. It was also a pleasure working alongside Susannah Raye, a brilliant wedding and event consultant, who ensured the day ran like clockwork. All the beautiful flowers were provided by Denise and the team at Lilac & Willow Flowers.
